ARTIST STATEMENT

Creating is a vehicle - a way of knowing myself and the world.

The aim of my work is to translate what can be felt when connecting to the invisible thread running through all things - a force that is bold and fierce, yet light and untethered.

Through a process of uncovering and building upon layers, the work reveals a story within the space that exists between precision and abstraction. I seek that place out, the one that lies beyond our surface level of perception and taps into the unseen aspects of life - celebrating all that inspires hope and captures the essence of being alive.

Within the constant change and shifting landscapes of my life, there has always been a foundation of deep curiosity and desire to express what I experience through the lens of art and design - to explore and expose the balance between the stillness of the darkness and the movement and fluidity of light, through painting, drawing, building.
